Description of Work       

The position assists in the development, implementation and facilitation of Nebraska

Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) training programs for state and local public transportation agency employees. Work may be performed independently or in collaboration with LTAP staff and other partners such as the Nebraska Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and other LTAP/TTAP programs, on both routine and non-routine assignments.

Minimum Required Qualifications            

Bachelor’s degree plus two years’ relevant experience to include: 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and identifying internet resources; 1+ years of experience with adult learning principles, training methods and techniques; 1+ years classroom instruction/training experience; Some experience with adult learning principles, training methods, and techniques ; equivalent education/experience will be considered. Experience with adult learning principles, training methods, and techniques. Experience with Microsoft Office products. Classroom instruction/training experience. All applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a DMV background check authorizing them to operate university vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree. Demonstrated experience of achievement within a team environment. Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, team, public, and professional communication. 3+ years of experience coordinating industry events or conferences independently and/or as part of team. Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal, team, public, and professional communication skills.

Strong organizational skills, with ability to coordinate and execute several concurrent tasks successfully.

Understanding of the principles of transportation; environment, roads, signage, etc. Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationship with clients, partners, elected officials, subject matter experts, and industry leaders. Knowledge and abilities in the area of project management.
