    About Lincoln Children’s Zoo

Since 1965 the Zoo has become a place where children could get up-close to animals and surround themselves in scenic gardens.

The Lincoln Children’s Zoo is home to over 350 animals, more than 40 of which are endangered. Over 225,000 people attend the Zoo each year, making it the third most attended arts and science attraction in Nebraska.

The Zoo offers many amazing events for children and adults throughout the year including Breakfast with the Penguins, Brews at the Zoo and their hands on summer Zoo Camps just to name a few.

And soon there will be more to love about the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. With the recent announcement in March the Zoo will expand their vision to include four new amazing areas – a world-class giraffe feeding experience, an up-close tiger encounter, an indoor adventure where children will climb with monkeys and a plaza with a playful stream.

THE NEW TRAINER: ECOSYSTEM, MINDSET, &

    CRITICAL SKILLS

Talent professionals have a critical role in helping organizations build success through their people. But the world of training is changing. Fast.  To be successful in tomorrow’s organizations, trainers must navigate the new ecosystem, develop a new mindset focused on results, and deploy indispensable skills that are evidence-based and digital. In this session, Jonathan Halls will look at what has and hasn’t changed in the learning profession, explore the mindset tomorrow’s trainers need for success, and list the indispensable skills every trainer needs on their resume.

This session will be part philosophical and part practical.

    MORE DETAILS ON THE CONTENT

The new ecosystem: The transition from traditional classroom to learning on demand when it’s need is just about complete. Learning is now global yet personal, flexible but aligned to business need, and based on evidence-based methods. (Mirrors shift to post-industrial era.

The new mindset: It’s about success in business, not success in the classroom.  Trainers solve business needs by making learning personal to the learner.  They deploy evidence-based learning solutions, evaluate business results using them to refine their work, and communicate value to clients.

Indispensable skills: business partnership, science of learning, digital media skills, evaluation skills. They are flexible and deployed through physical and virtual classroom, coaching, eLearning, and digital content.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS FOR ATTENDEES

A picture of how the new world of learning is evolving, and how it fits into the broader picture of the world as we shift from an industrial to postindustrial workplace.

What will change in their roles and what will not change as the new world of learning takes place.

A list of concrete skills that trainers should develop to stay ahead of the curve. Will reference the ATD competency model but be much more specific.

Cancellation Policy: No-shows will be billed; to avoid a no-show billing, please cancel 72 hours before the event by calling 402-434-7557.

    Rapid Video for Trainers

    3 Day Program

Many trainers today create microlearning videos to extend learning beyond the classroom. Short targeted videos can be very helpful but to be effective they need to be well produced.

Our 3-day rapid video programs are based on the bestselling book, Rapid Video Development for Trainers and teaches the rapid media technique.

The program teaches participants to create video content that looks professional and leads to learning. They learn professional media competencies to produce it fast and on a shoestring budget.

The program goes into both the production side of video, and the editorial side. participants learn how to shoot and do basic video editing. And they learn the psychology of video and how to combine that with learning theory.

    You will learn how to:

    • develop a professional level of practice that ensures confidence and professionals. (Affective LO)
    • plan learning content so that it is quick and easy for learners to understand, remember and apply to their job
    • shoot video following professional techniques to ensure images are crisp and clear and audio is crystal clear
    • edit video to flow smoothly and ensure a polished final video package
    • make software training videos more engaging

    How it Looks

    1. Participants are required to watch a series of pre-class videos and complete some reflection questions. This allows us to spend less time in class on theory and more on practice.
    2. Every participant makes two videos.
    3. participants receive follow-up videos to reinforce their learning after the class has finished.
    4. Participants receive a comprehensive workbook.

    Cost:

    • ATD Lincoln Members and Guests: $750.00
    • ATD Nebraska Members and Guests: $750.00
    • Non-Members: $850.00
